(science fiction/futuristic) The Scorch Trials, written by James Dashner, is part of the Maze Runner sequel. Being the second book in the series it continues on from the previous book's story line in 'The Maze Runner' where Thomas escapes from the Maze, with 11 other boys and Teresa, and is quickly rescued by a group of people who take them to a warehouse in the middle of the desert. In this book Thomas and his friends have to work together to survive the conditions out in the desert but most of all, avoid catching the flare. Throughout the book they all have to make decisions on who they trust but don't always make the best choices as you will see in the start of the story. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read, I couldn't put it down and absolutely loved it.
