A boy called Bruno has to move out of berlin because of his dads work. he doesn't want to move but he has no choice. Outside Brunos window he sees a long wired fence and heps of men on the otherside all wearing striped pyjamas and a hat. Bruno like to adventure so whe walks about an hour down the fence line and finds a boy named Shmuel the same age as Bruno on the other side of the fence and they beacome great friends. Bruno sneaks under the fence to hang out with Shmuel but everyone gets locked in a room and no one was seen again.
