Scarlet in the Snow ~ Greta

Title: Scarlet in the Snow
Author: Sophie Masson
Genre: Fantasy
Book: 7/20

This book is a twist on Beauty in the Beast. It follows a 17 year old girl called Natasha. One day, Natasha was doing a delivery for her mum, who's an artist. It was snowing and freezing outside but she had to take the sleigh and horses as cars weren't really a thing yet. On her way back a blizzard comes out of nowhere and the sleigh falls over and the horses run away. Natasha didn't know where she was or what direction to walk in but she kept moving forward nonetheless. Wolves started chasing her, making her run through the blizzard blindly. She stumbled upon a great mansion with a huge hedge and iron gates. Little did she know as she knocked on the door of the great house and took her first step inside, that this crossing would change her life forever. Magic, feyas, new love, a magnificent scarlet rose and more. Natasha might be the one to reveal the haunted past and unlock the spell.

I loved the story throughout the whole book. The way the author structured all the plot twists and surprises into the book was absurd. Thanks to that, in my head I created a movie that kept on rolling. I rate it a 9.5/10.

  1. Sounds like a great remake of a classic story. Well done.
