Act of Faith -Kendra

Book 5/20

Act of Faith by Kelly Gardiner

Genre: Historical fiction

Act of Faith is a story set in England at the time of 1640. The main character, Isabella is a girl unlike the other girls in this timeline. She likes to read. No other girls read at all. Isabella was taught by her father, as she has no mother. But she has to flee from her home in the midst of a war when her father makes a stand against the local member of parliament, General Oliver Cornwell's army. Isabella wonders alone until she finds work with an elderly writer/printer Master de Aqulia. When Master de Aqulia travels away to find a publisher for his new book, Isabella tags along and explores a new world she has never know or seen about before. One where women work alongside men. But danger lurks around every corner, and soon Master de Aqulia gets kidnapped. Isabella then joins forces with the master's assistant William and together the set off around Europe to save him from his death.

Over all I enjoyed the story and would rate it a 6/10.
