THG ~ Mockingjay ~ Greta

Title: Mockingjay (THG)
Author: Suzanne Collins
Genre: Science fiction
Book: 10/20

I don't particularly like when books are tedious so to see that this book and series wasn't was relieving as I thought they would be. I have to say the books are better than the movies though. The specific use of words made me project brilliant scenes in my head. I may have said this before but this is a daunting vision of our future. I rate this a 9/10.

mess - Tiana Holloway

mess

Author: Alex
( journxl on Wattpad )
Genre: Poetry Anthology

my hand write down the words my brain can't contain anymore.
( lower case intended )

At first it intrigued me by how the author didn't classify the gender and kept you guessing until they confirmed what the gender is, then the author made me question if that's really the gender or if that is the characters sexuality. When I finally clicked on what the gender of the character was it made reading it in that point of view even more interesting.

This book is full with dark, beautiful and surprisingly relatable things. The only thing is I wished it was longer but I guess that's just because I read a lot of books with longer chapters that aren't poems. I give it a 9/10.

... "humans are never satisfied aren't we?
                     there's always a goal
                      but when we get there,
                       we ask for more,
                    we want more.
                        always more." ...

12 am » poetry - Tiana Holloway

Twelve am >> poetry

Author: Kayla
( sushitae on Wattpad )
Genre: Poetry Anthology

it's 12 am and i'm wide awake.
( lowercase is intentional )

This book contains poems that the author comes up with while she's up at 12 am. She writes small chapters about things that are happening to her in real life as well, they're usually a few sentences long.
It's a very small book but detailed and relatable to girls. The sequel 1am poetry is still an on going story. I recommend this to girls who like short and sweet stories with a lot of semi-relatable things. I give it an 8/10 just because there wasn't as much content as I had hoped.

Shades of Blue - Tiana Holloway

Shades of Blue

Author: Julietta
( julixtta on Wattpad )
Genre: Poetry Anthology

Charlie doesn't speak, so he paints.

Shades of Blue follows a boy who leaves poems for a girl at a café. He sees that she's getting verbally and physically abused by her parents and believes what they tell her. He still thinks that she's perfect and he doesn't stop leaving poems.

Charlie and Azura are in love. They go through a lot of hard times but they overcome it. Azura is free of her parents and Charlie is starting to speak again. Then they get shocking, but wonderful news. As soon as happiness comes to Charlie Azura is ripped away from him.

I recommend this to people who like having the main plot be a love story. Shades of Blue is filled with poems but has short chapters to tell the reader what's happening. I love this book this is the second time I've read it but I wanted to read it so I could read the sequel, but it hasn't been fully completed yet it is still an ongoing story. It's not as long as most people would want but it has a lot of detail and the author has such a great way with words that makes up for it. I give it a 10/10.

"Is it something about
me that shuts your
lips up and stitches
them with horror?
Is it that the words
that fall out of my lips
are screams of torment?
Hopeless drops of alcohol?"

Seer's Hope - Tiana Holloway

Seer's Hope

( Book One of The Seer Trilogy )

Author: Maree Anderson
 ( MareeAnderson on Wattpad )
Genre: New Zealand Literature

Hope is snatched from her home to a primitive world of magic and gods. The Dayamari people believe she's a seer and their only hope of salvation, but she's blind - she can't see anything at all, let alone the future. She must accept her destiny and learn to wield her powers that the gods have bestowed upon her in order to save loved ones from the horrifying evil that lurks in the darkness, failure is not an option.

Seer's Hope follows a girl, Hope, as she learn to accept her for who she truly is. She must accept what her destiny is, to save the people of Dayamaria. She goes through many hardships but eventually something good happens once the evil is prevented, until the same evil rises again in the most unexpected place.

I recommend this book to people who like to read books based in non-existant historical eras. The love story is a big part of the story but is not the major point for it is not a romance novel. It shows that the main character is a strong willed, independent young woman. I give it 8/10.

Echo

Author: Cat Archer ( Cat_Archer on Wattpad)
Genre: Free Choice - Fanfiction

Rae Hood is the twin sister of Robin Hood but they act nothing like each other. Rae is sarcastic, blood-thirsty, has trust issues and is in love. Rae has to go through an inevitable curse, death, The Wicked Witch Of The West and much much more. Will she ever find happiness?

Echo follows the story of Rae Hood, a girl who has gone through too much. She has been blamed, tortured and has been ripped away from her one true love, Peter Pan. Her cursed name is Skylar. The Saviour breaks the curse and everyone gets there memories back.

I would recommend this book to people who have at least heard of Once Upon A Time. This book makes you feel so many different emotions. The author makes you feel as if you were almost there, alongside Rae Hood. There are so many different things that you forget about but then everything makes sense when you reach the last part of the book. If you read it on wattpad the songs just fit the mood especially the last chapter, which actually brought me to tears. I give it a 10/10.
