When Ness and Ty's parents died, they went to live with their Uncle Marn, his daughter Sophie and their horrible step-Aunty Tilda.
One day Ty, Sophie and Ness are all walking on the forbidden beach, Skellap bay, to get away from grumpy Tilda, when they find a man. A stranger. On Dunnett island the people do not allow strangers, but Ness does not believe in the same theories of the council and people of Dunnett island- that the sea is poisoned and evrything that comes from it. So, Ness does everything in her power to help the man recover, and help him get home. But if he is caught, or Ness is caught helping him, then all hell would brae lose on Dunnett island.
I really liked this book, it was full of suspense and I couldn't stop reading. I rate it a 8/10.
...and the author is a local. Very interesting to listen to if you ever get the chance.
