Colourless - Tiana Holloway

Colourless

Author: Izzy
(Izzy_Winchester1864 on Wattpad )
Genre: Science Fiction

Every child's blood is red up until the age of 18. Once they are 18, a grand ceremony is held. Blood is drawn and the colour is recorded.
There are ten colours:
White = Government Work
Grey = The Military
Black = The Government Spies / Assassins
Yellow = The Highest Class
Orange = The Next Highest Class
Red = The Middle Class
Green = The Poor
Blue = The Slaves
Purple = The Artists / Musicians / Authors
Pink = The Celebrities

However, a whole knew concept of understanding about everything she believes in is uncovered for one girl when her blood is discovered to be Colourless.
Colourless follows an 18 year old girl who learns about the faults in her laws and society the hard way. She has gone from a struggling civilian to a warrior that only wants fairness and peace. She still struggles with traumatising times but all she wants is to avenge her people, the people who have been deemed freaks. She only seeks a future where their lives aren't controlled by the government.
I recommend Colourless to people that like a strong female lead that's also very witty. The main character is very relatable but also very unique. Even though there is a romance in the book it doesn't have a major part in plot. Colourless has a very unexpected plot twist that requires you to read the extended epilogue Colourful if you want to know the answer to a question it leaves. Some may think it is rushed but it is an overall good story which is interesting because I'm not a very big Sci-Fi reader. I give it a 10/10.

Thomas garbes

this is a book of short stories. my favorite story was tale of the carpet people.tale of the carpet people is about tiny people that live in the carpet and the gentle draft is a hurricane force wind.The Munrungs are a tribe living in the Carpet, a vast landscape with its own peoples, creatures, villages, cities, fringes, and stories. When the dreaded Fray returns, wreaking havoc on the village, the Munrungs leave their ruined homes and take to the road. Snibril, younger brother of the village chieftain, proves his mettle in the adventures that follow. As explained in the author's note, The Carpet People came out in 1971, when Pratchett was 17. Before his British publisher republished it more than two decades later, he rewrote the book, which is now available for the first time in the U.S. The story is a bit of a hybrid, combining battles and philosophy with the occasional zing of wit (Snibril's stout-hearted but thick-headed brother is described by his fellow Munrungs as a man of few words, and he doesn't know what either of them means). Playful black-and-white line illustrations and full-color inserts (not available at time of review) round out the package. Sure to be sought after by Pratchett's fans, young and old, this adventure will also amuse children who have never heard his nameImage result for terry pratchett dragon

The Bane Chronicles - Tiana Holloway

The Bane Chronicles

Authors: Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson
Genre: Collection of Short Stories ( in this case short novellas )

It is not easy being Magnus Bane. As a warlock, he is often called upon to fix the problems of others. His life has been long, and his loves have been many. And Magnus has a way of being at the right place at the right - or perhaps wrong - time. The French Revolution, The Prohibition, the first great battle between Valentine and the New York Institute. . . Magnus was there, and usually in the middle of it. Magnus will never be able to tell all of his tales. No one would believe him. But these eleven stories shed a little light on his often inscrutable character. They are stories he probably wishes had never got out.

The Bane Chronicles is filled with Magnus Banes' adventures, sometimes one or both of his warlock friends, Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss, accompany him. There's What really happened in Peru, which is the back story on why Magnus was banned from Peru which he briefly mentioned in the Mortal Instruments series. The Midnight Heir is where Magnus reunites with old friends, Will Herondale and Tessa Gray as well as one of two of there children, James Herondale. The stories also tells us that Magnus really likes having a pet monkey and cats he loves cats.

I recommend The Bane Chronicles to people that have read both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices to understand a few but not many things though it is not necessary to.  It's filled with with sass, sarcasm and a bromance between Raphael Santiago and Ragnor Fell. I think The Bane Chronicles is definitely the comedic relief between The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices even if there is already enough sass is those series. I give it a 10/ 10.

Out of the Easy - Tiana Holloway

Out of the Easy

Author: Ruta Sepetys
Genre: Historical Fiction

Out of the Easy is set against the vivid backdrop of 1950s new Orleans.
Josie Moraine wants out of The Big Easy - she needs more than what New Orleans cam offer. know locally as a brothel prostitute's daughter, she dreams of life at an elite college, far away from here.

But then a mysterious death in the Quarter leaves Josie caught between her ambition and a clandestine underworld. New Orleans is luring Josie deeper in as she searches for the truth, and temptation beckons at every turn.

This novel is definitely not for people who can't handle mature topics such as brothels, prostitution and vulgar language. The author hooks you in from the beginning with the fact that Josie was only seven years old when her mother went to the brothel. I enjoy Ruta Sepetys' novels because they are beautifully written, descriptive, accurate and overall just great. I give it a 10/10.

Bod had many adventures within the graveyard as well as making many friends and receiving  the gift of the graveyard.  There was only 1 major rule that Bod had to follow- NEVER LEAVE THE GRAVEYARD! Mr and Mrs Owens (with the help of Silas- a vampire) successful protected Bod from the man who was out to get him, until one day when Bod broke the rule and left the graveyard. From the minute Bod steeped out of the graveyard, his life was endanger. This book was confusing at first but then It was easier to understand. I would recommend this book to someone who likes a interesting fantasy book. I give it a 8/10.
