Footrot Flats is about a farmer and his dog, who go through the struggles and joys of being on a farm and tells what life might be on a farm. They have to do the simple chores as you do everyday like chopping trees for firewood in the winter, But then they are very unfortunate so something might come and distract them from their original job.The simple chores they do everyday become very hard.
