The Beast of Gevaudan was a wolf like man-eating creature that roamed the former province Gevaudan, now modern day Lozere, in France 1764 - 1767. It killed hundreds of the civilians.
Many people claimed to have killed La Bête du Gévaudan but were later proved wrong when a vicious animal attack happened just days days later. Only one had finally killed La Bête du Gévaudan and her name has been lost over the years but she is often called The Maid of Gevaudan, and she killed La Bête with only a spear in the heart.
I recommend this book to people that love lost stories of history. I first heard of La Bête du Gévaudan on a show and thought it was made up but when I found this I was intrigued. The author leaves out no detail, even the gory ones.I give it a 10/10
