This book is about a girl named George and her dog, Timmy. They both go to see George's three cousins at a caravan field. They saw in the newspaper that two scientists have betrayed their country and gone to Germany (During World War 2). From their camping field they can see an old castle that they want to explore. One night they sit up on the hill and have dinner while watching the castle through some binoculars. Then they see a man at the castle window so the next day they go to see who the man was. They find out that the man was a prisoner and was one of the scientists. The other scientist kept him prisoner.
