Tim saw The Tooth as soon as he got out of the water from where his mother drowned. Rebecca drowned in the Waitea River when he was only 4 years old. Now 8 years later, Tim remembers The Tooth and goes on an adventure with his fantasy driven friend Mits to uncover it. The canyon that Tim, Mits, Bill (Tims dad) and Karen (museum assistant) are working in, has a dam that is due to burst. The rain, stolen wild horses and school bully Sam Mason and his cousins, don't help as it becomes a race against time to uncover The Tooth and much more.
The book was entertaining to read and kept me turning pages to see what happened next. I recommend it to anyone who likes a happy story with a violent edge. I rate it an 8/10.
This book could also be classed as NZ literature. A good review that gave me just enough information.
