City of Heavenly Fire - Tiana Holloway

City of Heavenly Fire

Author: Cassandra Clare
Genre: Fantasy

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon and Alec must flee - even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned. Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the thrilling and long - awaited final instalment of the bestselling and acclaimed Mortal Instruments.

I have already read a book for fantasy but I just really loved this book, it's written so well and I got really attached to the characters in this series. This book is one of the few that has actually made me feel the same emotion of the characters. I've cried, laughed and attached myself to these characters. This whole series has made me very emotional. It's even better that the love story is a huge part of it but these books aren't classed as romance, the main focus is the journey to defeating the evil and the bonds they make on the way.

I had the edition with a comic strip from the sequel series, which among other things made me cry and laugh.Obviously to read this book you have to read the first five so I would recommend this series to people that love books about fantasy but a lot of references to different pieces of literature like Shakespeare and the Bible. The sequel to this series is The Dark Artifices ( only the first book has been released ) and the sequel to the prequel series The Infernal Devices is The Last Hours ( to be released in 2017 ). I give it a 10/10

  1. I always like books that reference other bits of literature. Another great review.
